Creating Internet Gateway

This page explains how to create an Internet Gateway resource using the OCX Portal.

Preparation

Please confirm the following before creating an Internet Gateway resource:

  • Your User Role is either admin or user.

Procedure for Creating an Internet Gateway

  1. Log in to the OCX Portal.

  2. Click [Internet Gateways] from the left navigation bar.

  3. On the Internet Gateways page, click [+ Create] in the upper right corner.

  4. The screen will switch to the Internet Gateway resource creation steps. Configure the input items as follows and click [Create]:

    • Name

      • Enter an arbitrary name. Using an easily identifiable name will make management simpler.
      • Maximum length is 40 characters.
      • Leading and trailing whitespace in the resource name will be automatically removed.
    • NAT Location

      • Select from the following options. Please note that the NAT Location cannot be changed after creation.
      NAT Location
      Tokyo
      Osaka
    • IPv4 Gateway Address

      • Enter the IPv4 address to be used as the gateway for the internet connection in CIDR format (IPv4/mask) (e.g., 192.168.0.1/24).
    • Local ASN

      • Enter the AS number to be operated by the Internet Gateway. 4-byte ASNs are supported.
      • Refer to the [Supplement] section for restricted AS numbers.
  5. A confirmation pop-up will appear. Review the associated costs and click [Create].

  6. Once the created resource appears in the list at the top of the screen, confirm that its status has changed to available.

    • You can update the status by clicking [Refresh] in the upper right corner.

This completes the creation of the Internet Gateway resource.

After creating the Internet Gateway resource, you can proceed to Add NAT IP Addresses, Create Static Routes, and Create BGP Parameters. Please refer to each respective operation page for details.

Remarks

NAT Location

The NAT Location refers to the location of the equipment providing the NAT functionality. Subsequent communication follows BBIX communication specifications.

NAT IP Address

Upon creating an Internet Gateway resource, one initial NAT IP address is provided. You can check this in the NAT IP Address tab at the bottom of the screen. The initial NAT IP address cannot be deleted.

Restricted ASNs

  • The following AS numbers are reserved by RFC and cannot be used:
    • 0
    • 23456
    • 65535
    • 4294967295
