Decommissioning (Deletion) of Cloud Connection (Alibaba Cloud)
This page explains how to decommission (delete) a Cloud Connection (Alibaba Cloud) using the OCX Portal. Resources created on the cloud side from a Cloud Connection will undergo a deletion process following the decommissioning of the Cloud Connection. Therefore, as a general rule, please perform the decommissioning (deletion) operation through the OCX Portal.
Preparation
Please confirm the following before decommissioning (deleting) a Cloud Connection (Alibaba Cloud):
- Your User Role is either
adminoruser. - The Cloud Connection to be deleted is not attached to any Virtual Circuit (VC).
- Verification of the Physical Connection (physical port) linked to the Cloud Connection to be deleted:
- Since you will need to delete the Physical Connection in the Alibaba Cloud console, please identify the target Physical Connection in advance.
- The name of the Physical Connection on the Alibaba Cloud console is automatically generated. You can check the Instance ID of the Physical Connection linked to the Cloud Connection by clicking the
Information iconin the Actions column on the right side of the created Cloud Connection entry.

- Confirm that the Status of the corresponding Physical Connection is "Enabled".
- Since you will need to delete the Physical Connection in the Alibaba Cloud console, please identify the target Physical Connection in advance.
Procedure for Decommissioning (Deletion) of a Cloud Connection (Alibaba Cloud)
- Log in to the OCX Portal.
- Click [Cloud Connections] from the left navigation bar.
- Once the Cloud Connections list page appears, click the
Delete iconin the Actions column on the right side of the item you wish to decommission (delete). - The [Confirm Deletion] pop-up will be displayed; enter the name of the resource and click [Delete].
- To cancel the operation, click [Cancel].
- Click [Back to List] and confirm that the corresponding Cloud Connection has been removed from the list.
- If the deletion is not executed, or if the status remains stuck as
deletingordelete failed, please contact us via the Inquiry Desk on the Dashboard.

Confirmation and Deletion on the Alibaba Cloud Console
- After performing the deletion of the Cloud Connection, confirm that "Delete" is available for selection in the Actions item of the corresponding Physical Connection on the Alibaba Cloud console.
- Click "Delete" in the Actions item of the corresponding Physical Connection to remove the Physical Connection.
Notes
- A decommissioned (deleted) Cloud Connection cannot be restored.
- Due to the nature of the provider's cloud system, the deletion process may take some time (the status may remain as
deleting). If the status does not change even after 24 hours have passed since the deletion, please contact OCX Support.
