OCX Hikari Private Glossary
Terminology
This page explains the primary terminology used in OCX Hikari Private.
| No | Term | Description |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Tunnel Gateway | A tunnel termination function established on the OCX private network. It allows for connecting the private network built on OCX with the customer's on-premises network using an IPIP tunnel (IPv4 over IPv6). An overview of Tunnel Gateway can be found here. |
| 2 | Gateway Endpoint Address | The IPv6 address configured on the Tunnel Gateway. This must be set as the remote address for the IPIP tunnel (IPv4 over IPv6) on the CPE device. |
| 3 | On-premises Environment | The environment where the FLET'S line is installed. This is the environment where the CPE is installed and wired to build a network connected to OCX. |
| 4 | On-premises Network Address | The private network address used under the CPE. |
| 5 | FLET'S Line | Optical fiber lines provided by Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation / Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation (NTT East/West). |
| 6 | CPE | The router installed at the customer's premises. It terminates the IPIP tunnel (IPv4 over IPv6) within the on-premises network to enable IPv4 communication via the Tunnel Gateway. |
| 7 | CPE Endpoint Address | An IPv6 address assigned from the range of the IPv6 prefix. This must be set as the local address for the IPIP tunnel (IPv4 over IPv6) on the CPE device. |
| 8 | IPoE | Refers to the IPoE connection provided via FLET'S lines. While IPv6 internet connectivity on FLET'S lines supports both PPPoE and IPoE methods, OCX Hikari Private only supports IPoE connections. |
| 9 | IPoE Provisioning | The state where IPoE setup is complete, an IPv6 prefix associated with the customer's terminal has been assigned, and communication via IPv6 addresses can begin. |
| 10 | IPv6 Prefix | An IPv6 prefix assigned after the completion of IPoE provisioning. |
