Creating an XaaS Connection (Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage) Resource

This page explains how to create an XaaS Connection to connect to Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage using the OCX Portal.

Available Services

By creating an XaaS Connection (Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage), you can connect to the following services:

  • Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage
  • Wasabi Cloud NAS

Preparation

Before creating an XaaS Connection resource, please confirm the following:

  • Your User Role is either admin or user.

Procedure for Creating a XaaS Connection Resource

  1. Log in to the OCX Portal.

  2. From the left navigation bar, click [XaaS Connections].

  3. On the XaaS Connections list page, click [+ Create], select IaaS from the menu, and then select Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage.
This refers to the + Create icon next to the XaaS Connections name.

  4. The XaaS Connection resource creation screen will be displayed. Configure the following items and click [Create].

    • Name

      • Enter any name. Using an easily identifiable name is recommended for easier management.
      • Maximum length is 40 characters.
      • Leading and trailing spaces in the resource name are automatically trimmed.
    • NAT Location

      • Select a NAT location from the drop-down list.
Note that the NAT location cannot be changed after creation.
      NAT Location
      Tokyo
      Osaka
      • If Osaka is selected while 2 Gbps or 3 Gbps is selected for speed (bandwidth), the speed will be changed to 1 Gbps automatically.
    • Speed (Bandwidth)

      • If the NAT location is Tokyo, select one of 1, 2, or 3 Gbps.
        • If created with 1 Gbps, the speed cannot be changed later.
        • If created with 2 Gbps or 3 Gbps, it cannot be changed to 1 Gbps later.
      • If the NAT location is Osaka, the speed is fixed at 1 Gbps.
    • Destination XaaS

      • Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage, selected in Step 3, will be displayed.
    • IPv4 Gateway Address

      • Enter the IPv4 address used as the gateway for the XaaS connection in CIDR format (IPv4/mask).
        (Example: 192.168.0.1/24)
Refer to the [Notes] section for unusable IP addresses.
    • Local ASN

      • Enter the AS number to be used for the XaaS Connection. Four-byte ASNs are supported, and the connection operates as eBGP.
      • Refer to the [Notes] section for unusable AS numbers.
      • One or two instances of the local ASN will be added to the AS path of routing information.
  5. A creation confirmation pop-up will appear. Review the cost associated with the creation and click [Create].

  6. The XaaS Connections list page will be displayed. Confirm that the status next to the created resource becomes available.
You can refresh the status by clicking [Refresh] in the upper-right corner.

This completes the creation of the XaaS Connection resource.

After creating the XaaS Connection resource, you can add NAT IP addresses.
For details, refer to Add NAT IP Address.

Remarks

Notes

  • When using Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage, Internet connectivity is required to display the dashboard screen.
  • As of September 2025, connections to Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage are provided only for the Tokyo Region (ap-northeast-1).
Therefore, even if Osaka is selected as the NAT location, the connection destination for Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage will still be the Tokyo Region (ap-northeast-1).

NAT Location

The NAT location refers to the location of the equipment that provides the NAT function.
Subsequent communications follow BBIX communication specifications.

NAT IP Address

When an XaaS Connection resource is created, one initially assigned NAT IP address is provided.
You can check it in the NAT IP Address tab at the bottom of the screen.
The initially assigned NAT IP address cannot be deleted.

Unusable IP Addresses

The following IPv4 address ranges cannot be used for the IPv4 gateway address:
