Decommissioning NAT IP Address

This page explains how to decommission (delete) a NAT IP address using the OCX Portal.

Preparation

Before deleting a NAT IP address, please confirm the following:

  1. Your User Role is either admin or user.
  2. The target XaaS Connection resource is in either the available or attached state.

Procedure for Decommissioning (Deletion) of NAT IP Address

  1. Log in to the OCX Portal.

  2. From the left navigation bar, click [XaaS Connections].

  3. From the XaaS Connections list page, click the target XaaS Connection resource.

  4. In the lower half of the screen, click the [NAT IP Addresses] tab.

  5. When the NAT IP address list is displayed, click the Delete icon in the Actions column on the right side of the NAT IP address you want to delete.

  6. A delete confirmation pop-up will appear. Enter the ID and click [Delete].
To cancel the operation, click [Cancel].

  7. Confirm that the target NAT IP address has been removed from NAT IP Addresses.

    • The status of the XaaS Connection resource will change to updating, and the deleted NAT IP address will be shown as “Deleting”.
    • Please note that deletion may take some time to complete.
    • You can refresh the status by clicking [Refresh] in the upper-right corner.

This completes the deletion of the NAT IP address.

Notes

  • The initially assigned NAT IP address is automatically allocated when the XaaS Connection resource is created and cannot be deleted.
Deleted NAT IP addresses cannot be restored.

  • When deleting a NAT IP address, all existing NAT sessions will be deleted.
As a result, communication interruptions will occur not only on the NAT IP address being deleted, but on all currently active NAT IP addresses for the target XaaS Connection resource.

  • Please take care if there are applications actively communicating using NAT.

  • The duration of the communication interruption depends on the application behavior when sessions are disconnected and re-established.
