Creating an OCX-Router(v1)

This page explains how to create the router resource that serves as the core function of the OCX-Router(v1) using the OCX Portal.
Creating an OCX-Router(v1) automatically generates two instances—Primary and Secondary.
This configuration of two instances per resource ensures connection redundancy for your network.

Preparation

Please confirm the following before creating an OCX-Router(v1):

  1. Your User Role is either admin or user.
  2. Prepare the following information according to your network requirements:
    • The AS Number to be used (required for BGP).

OCX-Router(v1) Creation Procedure

  1. Log in to the OCX Portal.

  2. Click [OCX-Router(v1)] from the left navigation bar.

  3. On the OCX-Router(v1) page, click [+ Create] in the upper right corner.

  4. The creation screen will appear. Configure the items as follows and click [Create].

    • Name

      • Enter an arbitrary name (max 40 characters) for easy identification.
      • Leading and trailing whitespaces are automatically removed.
    • Location

      • Select from the following. Please note that the location cannot be changed after creation.
      Location
      Tokyo
      Osaka
      Singapore
    • Primary Router ID

      • Enter the router ID for the Primary router. This serves as a unique identifier for the BGP router and is evaluated as a path attribute.
    • Secondary Router ID

      • Enter the router ID for the Secondary router. This must be unique and cannot overlap with the Primary Router ID.
    • Local ASN

      • Enter the AS Number for the router. 4-byte ASNs are supported.
      • Note: If left blank, the system default value of 65000 will be set (this can be changed later).
      • Note: Refer to the [Supplement] section for unusable ASNs.
  5. A confirmation pop-up will appear. Review the costs associated with the creation and click [Create].

  6. Confirm that the created resource appears in the list with the status activated.
Note: You can update the status by clicking [Refresh] in the upper right corner.

This completes the creation of the OCX-Router(v1).

Once the OCX-Router(v1) is created, you can begin creating Interfaces for it. For the procedure to create an Interface, please refer to Creating an Interface.

Remarks

  • Created router resources are managed as a single unit consisting of two instances, named (Your Name)_primary and (Your Name)_secondary.
  • The router is ready for use once both the primary and secondary router statuses have changed to activated.
  • The following ASNs cannot be used as they are reserved by RFC:
    • 0
    • 23456
    • 65535
    • 4294967295
